Welcome to Edinburgh and Dunstane Hotels.
One wonderful city, two inviting hotels, each with their own particular personality and a variety of short breaks to help you enjoy Edinburgh affordably. If you are new to the city, then read our guide to Edinburgh and some of its many attractions.
Dunstane House Hotel dates back to 1852 to a design of William Playfair, one of Edinburgh's most famous architects. Now a boutique hotel privately-owned and managed by Derek and Shirley Mowat, each of the 19 bedrooms offers a fresh take on country house hotel charm. You can look forward to restful nights in Luxury Deluxe Four Poster beds with subtle accents of current style. Or stretch out king-size and enjoy all the period details and in-room features of our Classic Double rooms. Try out one of our newly refurbished Deluxe Bedrooms and enjoy the elegance of a four poster in the contemporary style of the Red Room or experience our Blue Room with its stunning feature head board and unique lounge chairs.
Dunstane House is joined by an eighteen-bedroom sister hotel, Dunstane City Hotel, located directly opposite. Dunstane City is a modern luxury boutique hotel, with 18 stylish and contemporary bedrooms. Dunstane Hotels work as well together creating an experience unique to each individual traveller whether here on business or pleasure.
Though they differ in look, both hotels provide the same warmth of welcome and level of personal attention and on a reasonable budget. At Dunstane, we know you by name, not by room number.
The hotel's restaurant, Skerries is popular with Edinburgh's foodies in its own right, specialising in Scottish produce and in particular the seafood of Orkney and Shetland. It has also been newly refurbished and offers an intimate, boutique dining experience. Skerries is a must during your stay with us and our vast selection of Malt whiskys in the Stane Bar will ensure you experience all the different tastes that Scotland has to offer.
You're also well-placed to get the most from your Edinburgh stay. The city centre is only a short walk away. Dunstane Hotels offer a great Edinburgh base for those who have a keen eye for style, but like to keep the other eye on the budget. Dunstane House and Dunstane City Hotels are ideal for those looking for cheap boutique accommodation in Scotland's Capital.

"The Dunstane City Hotel is a smart boutique property with just 18 rooms. For a four-star hotel with sleek, minimalist interiors, the £99 room tag, which includes full Scottish breakfast, seems surprisingly small. It is just five minutes' walk from Haymarket train station and 20 minutes from the castle."
